Guild of Photographers Award Winning Portraits
As many of you know from time to time I enter in the Guild of Photographers monthly competition, it's not something I do every month since I don't consider my myself a competitive photographer - it may seem a strange thing to say after winning the Image of The Year Awards but that was an unexpected and exciting bonus! I am however always looking to develop and strengthen my own skills and keen to keep evolving so my occasional entries are purely for my self development, to make sure my work keeps on track and to get feedback if I've been shooting something a little different.
I entered three images into February's competition and was really pleased to receive my results last week and find that I've won awards with all three, especially since the second two are quite different to anything I've entered before !
The image above was taken as part of a personal project I'm currently working on. I'm aiming to photograph fifty people who have been so passionate about a hobby that they've made a business from it, I'm blogging my progress at www.fiftyportraits.co.uk and meeting some amazing people along the way !
